Videogame History Timeline

Videogame Timeline

This is a wonderful timeline of videogame history brought to us from the people at Gizmodo/Kotaku.  If you click on the image you will directed to the full-sized image.

The history of video-games from pong to today’s modern games have been amazing.  In our life time we have seen this electronic medium transform our lives and our way of entertainment.  I have many converstations with video-game historians about different classic gaming consoles, and some that were forgotten along the way.

Campus Gamers hopes to help respect the history of this amazing way of gaming.  The future of our games are all built upon our past gaming experinces.

Final Fantasy Kids

Cute picture I found from TheChive.com of children dressing up in cosplay outfits of Yuna and Tidus.  It’s kinda wrong to dress your kids up in cosplay outfits, but the passion for the game exists.

In the near future Campus Gamers hopes to host a gaming/geek fashion show, and hopefully with it we’ll see much more cosplay and gaming culutre shown off.  At this time we’ll just let these kids enjoy their moment.

Arkham Asylum 2 Villans

Arkham2Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 has been announced this past weekend at the VGAs and I know what you’re all thinking, “Who are the villains?” Well, not to worry, because I’m here to shed some light on the possible villains.
As you all know, Arkham has moved. The new location has an increase in its terror and also Arkham Asylum has stepped-up its security. If you haven’t yet, go watch the trailer.

Now for the goods: welcome to the mainland of Gotham city where the Prince of Clown, Joker, is free once again to rule over the streets. As the camera flows through the war-torn streets as we are brought to the Iceberg Lounge. This is the first clue to a villain. The Iceberg Lounge was a night club lair to one of the better dressed villians, The Penguin.

Once the camera pulls away and moves up along the wall, an Uncle Sam “We want you” poster is seen, but you better take a double look. Pause the player here if you need to, because something is not right. Uncle Sam seems to have another half. This poster can also be seen on the ArkhamHasMoved.com website. Notice a slight discoloured split with a gun? That’s right, everyone’s favourite District Attorney, Two-Face.

Going into an indoor amusement park, we see a dead body enjoying the ride. Above where the ride stops, there is a sign that reads “Sionis”. Roman Sionis a.k.a. Black Mask appeared back in 1985 in the Batman comics.

Is someone missing?  Clayface, Firefly?  Mr. Freeze?  Who doesn’t want to see Catwoman?

Batman: Arkham Asylum Sequel Announced

untitled1_10

Saturday Decemeber 12th Video Games Award released a video that announced DC, WB, and Rocksteady are working towards a sequel to the Batman: Arkham Asylum video game.  The original game was a huge success, one of the best video games ever.  I played it and felt it was excellently done, graphics and story that held so true to the Batman archetype.  The fights were great and played it for hours.  Not much is known about the sequel at this time, only a trailer and a spoiler.  More information will be announced and relayed to the fans.  Gamers everywhere are excited to see a new Batman game to be released.  Rocksteadydid an amazing this withthe Batman franchise withthe first one and everyone at Campus Gamers is excited to see what they will do with a sequel.

Welcome World

So it dawned upon me, I really should start a Blog about Campus Gamers. Most people who are a fan of Campus Gamers are curious about how it started and where it came from, so this will be an online log about that. It’s my quest on making this culture happen. As it grows, I hope we get other authors on board and make something huge, but right now – just one step at a time :)
